Bellatrix's departure brought along with it the type of silence that spoke more than any words that could possibly have been said.
Cillian stared at the floor, replaying her words in his mind while staring at the papers scattered before him.
His cheek stung from the number of times said paper had smacked against them, but the ache in his chest quickly dulled the pain out and with that ache, once again came the brutal realization that, just like the previous times, Bellatrix was right.
What right did he have to want a perfect family with her? With their son?
He blinked once, swallowed thickly as if doing so would rid his throat of the bile stuck there, then met Rourke's gaze at last.
His friend fixed him with an apologetic expression and clapped a hand on his shoulder. "It's not the end," he assured.
