Chapter 135 Not Being Your Special Assistant

Watching the car outside drive away, Elaine turned to go back inside to pack her things, only to see her tear-streaked face in the mirror on the wall. She didn't even know when those tears had fallen. Elaine panicked and tried to wipe away the tears with her hand, but found they wouldn't go away no matter how hard she rubbed. Helplessly, Elaine rushed into the bathroom and splashed her face with cold water, feeling somewhat more awake afterwards. Meanwhile, on the car, Wilson's heart was in turmoil. But his facial expression remained unchanged, just like when he had arrived, showing no emotion. However, on the way back, when he heard Bella telling Beta about the wedding dress requirements he had just discussed with Elaine, as well as Elaine's cooperation and suggestions, Wilson's brows furrowed imperceptibly. Bella was a very careful girl. Although she was chatting with Beta, she still keenly observed Wilson's subtle movements. She quickly showed concern, "Are you okay, Wilson? Is there something wrong? Did you not eat breakfast this morning? Is your stomach hurting?" Wilson shook his head, "I'm fine." But Bella wouldn't let it go, "Beta, stop at the next intersection. I'll go to the convenience store next door and buy him something to eat." "Okay." The car quickly stopped by the roadside, and Bella promptly got out and rushed to the convenience store. Beta turned to look at Wilson, "Is there something bothering you?" Wilson looked at Beta and asked back, "Shouldn't I be asking you that?" On the side, Si Yanfang couldn't understand what the siblings were talking about. But his intuition told him that today's events must be related to Elaine. Si Yanfang thought to himself that he would have to ask Elaine about it when they got back. Bella came out quickly, and the tense atmosphere between Beta and Wilson instantly disappeared, as if everything that had just happened was just a figment of Si Yanfang's imagination. "Here, eat up quickly." Bella got into the car and immediately handed the sandwich she had bought to Wilson. Wilson didn't really want to eat, but since it was a kind gesture, he could only take it, "Okay, thank you. We'll be at the company soon, I'll eat it when we get there." Hearing Wilson's distant gratitude, Bella felt a momentary unhappiness. But soon, she seemed to think of something, and nodded at Wilson, "Alright, but don't forget to eat just because you're busy with work. Your health is the most important." Wilson responded with an "Hmm" and turned his head to look out the window. The car fell into silence again until they arrived at the company building together. Compared to this side, the "hard life" of Katrina and Daniel on the other side seemed even more pleasant. On the second day of their argument with Beta, Katrina and Daniel were kicked out of the villa under the pretext of being expelled from the family. Elaine and Si Yanfang were living in their own house, so Katrina had to find another place with Daniel. Although Daniel had been expelled from the Howard family, he still had some savings. The two of them quickly bought another house, but compared to the previous villa, it was indeed much more humble. Katrina didn't mind, she was more accustomed to this kind of life, but Daniel was obviously much more uncomfortable. After all, it's easy to go from frugality to luxury, but hard to go from luxury to frugality. Katrina could clearly see that Daniel was somewhat uncomfortable, so she said to him, "If you find this kind of life uncomfortable, you can apologize to your family and go back. It's not too late." Daniel jokingly teased Katrina, "And then? Marry someone else, and keep a mistress outside for you?" Katrina immediately became anxious and bit him, "How can you be so greedy? Wanting this and that." Daniel winced in pain, then immediately showed sincere affection to Katrina, "I want you, only you. Was I joking with you? How could I treat you like that?" Then, the sweet couple went out together to buy groceries. In the office on the top floor of the building, Beta listened to her subordinates report on Daniel and Katrina's situation, unable to help rubbing her temples. Seeing this, Si Yanfang immediately stepped forward to give Beta a head massage. Beta stiffened for a moment, about to get angry, but found that Si Yanfang's massage had relieved her pain after a few strokes. "Relax, breathe, cooperate with me." Si Yanfang said as he used massage techniques he had learned since elementary school to help Beta relieve the pain. Cooperating with Si Yanfang, Beta soon began to feel drowsy. Si Yanfang brought a blanket and wanted to cover Beta with it, but Beta quickly refused, "I still have work to do, how can I sleep here?" Ignoring her, Si Yanfang insisted on covering Beta with the blanket, "Rest for ten minutes, it won't affect your work, and when you wake up, you'll be more efficient." After thinking for a while, Beta realized it made sense, so she obediently closed her eyes. And when she woke up again, it was already dark outside. Seeing the pitch-black outside the window, Beta felt like she must have been mistaken. She turned to look at the other side, where Si Yanfang was lying on the table sorting out documents, looking extremely serious. "Si Yanfang, didn't you say you'd wake me up in ten minutes?" Beta got up, folded the blanket and put it aside. Si Yanfang turned his head to look at Beta, then glanced at his watch, and said, "Didn't I say that? Could you rest easy if I didn't?" "Haven't you been sleeping well recently? How do you feel now? Do you feel much more relaxed?" Si Yanfang asked again. After moving her body a bit, feeling a lightness, Beta began to look at Si Yanfang with newfound respect, but she still couldn't resist teasing him, "Not bad, you know. How about you? Why aren't you off work yet?" Si Yanfang finished organizing the last few documents and handed them to Beta, "I'm doing your work for today. Otherwise, when you wake up later, won't you have to stay up all night again?" Beta glanced at the documents and found that this kid was indeed very capable. She suddenly felt that having a special assistant like him around was quite nice. Seeing her not saying anything, Si Yanfang approached with a smirk, "How about it? Do you feel like having a special assistant by your side is quite nice?" Beta: It would be even nicer if you weren't so self-centered. "Good job, you can go off work now." Beta put the documents away in the drawer and took the car keys to Si Yanfang, "You're not leaving yet?" Si Yanfang smiled mischievously, "Is the boss going to drive me home?" Beta said matter-of-factly, "After you've helped me so much, isn't it only right for me to drive you home?" Si Yanfang made a disappointed expression, "Is that it? I thought..." He stopped midway through his sentence and didn't finish it. Beta asked, "You thought what?" Si Yanfang looked a bit shy, "I thought you might have some thoughts about me, you know, lusting after my body." Beta:... "Have I ever said not to tease your boss!" Beta said sternly, giving Si Yanfang's back a knock. "Bang!" Si Yanfang winced in pain, looking at Beta with resentment, "Then I quit. I'd rather go work as a special assistant for President Wilson. After all, I originally interviewed for that position. You switched it, I thought you had other intentions for me." Beta was speechless, "I pay you the same salary as he does, why wouldn't you want to be my special assistant?" Si Yanfang muttered, "If I become his special assistant, you won't be my boss anymore, then I can pursue you." Beta's ears turned red, "I'm seriously asking you, can you stop saying useless things?" Si Yanfang looked at Beta earnestly, "Sis, how do you know I'm not seriously answering you?"
