Chapter 391
It was past midnight.
William Turner was drenched in icy rainwater, the alcohol long gone from his system.
The maid, who had watched him grow up, looked at him with concern. “Young Master, why don’t you change into something dry before going home? It'll be easier on Madam, too.”
But William wasn’t in the mood.
He slid into the back of the black SUV, peeled off his soaked coat, and muttered to the driver, “Let’s go.”
Sensing something was off, the driver kept quiet and focused on the road.
Outside, faint dawn light brushed over the treetops. The roads on either side sank into gloom again, broken only by the occasional rustle of creatures foraging in the night.
In the backseat, William sat in silence.
Once his phone had some charge, he opened it to see the news.
