As the night lights lit up, William Turner arrived at the restaurant they had agreed on.
It was the most upscale spot in Caelmoor—a revolving restaurant on the 52nd floor with a sweeping view of the city’s sparkling nightscape.
The manager personally greeted him and said respectfully, “Mr. Turner, Miss Grace is already waiting for you inside.”
William glanced in and noticed the entire place had been cleared. Not a single other diner. The chandelier sparkled overhead, and near the floor-to-ceiling windows stood a woman in green. Chloe Grace wore a flowing emerald dress, looking stunning as always.
Behind her, footsteps echoed softly.
She didn’t turn around. She knew he was here. Eyes still on the city lights outside, her voice came out quiet, almost lost in the air.
“Years ago, my parents came here too.”
“It was to break up.”
“They had one last meal, then called it quits. Never thought we’d end up the same way—dinner and goodbye.”
