CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND TWELVE - THE LABYRINTHINE MAZE
The small group at the gates immediately noticed her. There were excited murmurs and pointing. Anna walked towards them, trying to appear friendly despite her nervousness.
"Hello," she said as she approached.
The villagers crowded closer, their eyes wide with curiosity. A barrage of questions hit her all at once.
"Are you really from America?" "What's it like living in Ulfheim?" "How do you know the werewolves?" "Is it true you're Erik Fairchild's lover?"
Anna felt overwhelmed by their enthusiasm and inquisitiveness. She tried to answer as best she could, but each response seemed to spark a dozen more questions.
"Yes, I'm from New York," she said, addressing the first question she had clearly heard.
This admission caused a flurry of excitement among the villagers. They pressed closer, eager to hear more about the fabled city.
"New York! Is it really like in the movies?" "Have you seen celebrities?" "Are the buildings really so tall?"
