Anna paced the length of her room, her mind racing with the implications of her discoveries. The disappearances, the hidden room, the villager's whispers—it all pointed to a looming danger that threatened the Ulfheim pack. She glanced out the frost-covered window, the vast expanse of snow-covered forest suddenly seeming more ominous than beautiful.
A soft knock at the door interrupted her thoughts. "Come in," she called out, turning to see Elin, the housemaid, enter with a tray of steaming tea.
"I thought you might need this, Miss Anna," Elin said, her voice tinged with concern. "You've been up here for hours."
Anna smiled gratefully, accepting the cup. "Thank you, Elin. I've just been... thinking."
Elin hesitated, then spoke in a hushed tone. "Is it about the disappearances? The whole house is talking about it."
