Chapter 139: Hating to Be Threatened
Alison quietly glanced at the bottle of red wine in Oliver’s hand, immediately recognizing that it was worth far more than the wine Jenny had opened earlier in the private room.
“Drink some,” Oliver said, effortlessly opening the bottle and pouring the wine into a decanter.
The color of the wine in the decanter was brilliant, a deep, pure red.
Oliver waited for a moment, but when he didn’t receive an answer, he looked up toward her with a slight smirk on his lips.
“Are you afraid of what I might do to you? A little wine will help warm you up,” he said mockingly.
Alison stared at him with suspicion in her eyes, not believing for a second that he was being genuinely kind.
Oliver didn’t care about the wariness in her gaze. He poured the wine into a glass, then extended it to her without hesitation.
Alison, clearly resisting, said cautiously, “I’m fine, really. No need, thank you... *Achoo!*”
Before she could finish, she sneezed loudly.
