Even though Mason and Avery didn't disclose their relationship at their workplace, Mason didn't keep their relationship under wraps when he was with his family, friends, or business partners. He always admitted who she was to him openly, even though they hadn't discussed their future together yet. After having an enjoyable lunch together, Mason and Everett took their signed copy of their agreement and headed back to the city in their respective rides. Mason had come over with his driver today, but he didn't get his driver to drive him and Avery back into the city. Instead, he chose to drive himself. He turned on the heating system in the car for the return journey. The warmth made Avery fall asleep in the passenger seat. Mason held onto the steering wheel with his left hand while holding Avery's hand with his right, just like he normally would. He felt really calm and at peace. If this was what his life would be like in the future, he was willing to continue living like this.
