Avery completed all her tasks at hand past 11:00 am. Then, she went over to Carey's office to apply for marriage leave. She had just stepped into his office when he stood up from his desk. He greeted, "Hello, Ms. Leigh." In the past, Carey had always been courteous toward Avery and her colleagues at her department. Nevertheless, he'd never been as courteous as he was now.
