Seraphina's POV My body tensed as I turned around and almost collided with Kaelos' broad chest. The distance between us was only a few inches, close enough for his warm breath to brush against my face. His dark gray eyes stared intently, as if searching for something in my eyes. “Kaelos!” His name escaped my lips as a startled whisper. Instead of stepping back to give me space, he moved closer. One hand touched the edge of the table behind me, effectively trapping me between his body and the furniture. The familiar crooked smile played on his lips. “If you're trying to bribe me like this,” his voice was low and teasing, “I might consider softening up on you.” My heart was racing, but I forced myself to stay calm. “Oh, of course,” I replied sarcastically, crossing my arms over my chest. "You must get flattered by female wolves like this all the time.
