CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY FIVE – THE DOUBLE DATE
The gentle rocking of the yacht lulled Karina into a contented daze as she reclined on the plush lounger, basking in the late afternoon sun. A light offshore breeze tousled her hair, carrying the briny scent of the sea.
From the adjacent pool, the sound of splashing and laughter periodically punctured the tranquil atmosphere. John and Thomas were engaged in an epically silly water battle, lobbing volleys of cannon ball splashes back and forth.
Karina watched with an indulgent smile as her husband abandoned all veneer of corporate decorum, whooping and hollering like an overgrown frat boy. It did her heart good to see him unwind and embrace moments of pure, uninhibited joy.
"They're utterly ridiculous, aren't they?"
The wry observation came from Sally, who had materialized beside Karina with a crisp white towel knotted around her slender figure. She settled onto the neighboring lounger with a amused shake of her head.
