Chapter 34

"Piggy back time." He mumbled as he placed me on the ground and crouched in front of me, his back facing me. "You know, I can climb myself." I stated, half lying. The tree was so tall and I was so tired but I didn't want to be sad to him. "I insist. Take it as a way to say sorry." He cheekily grinned at me over his shoulder. I gave him a weak smile. I slowly leaned my stomach to his back and wrapped my legs around his waist and my arms around his neck. He slowly stood up and climbed the ladder. He acted as though I weighed nothing more than a feather. I looked up once I felt Jack walking and saw he was heading to his bed. He put me down and I instantly went onto the bed and under the covers. He chuckled and I heard him taking steps backwards. I looked up and saw his back towards me. "Where are you going?" I mumbled before he turned around and looked at me. "To the field, I'm going to let you sleep."
