#Chapter 17 A soaring sight

The men left the car to give me a bit of privacy as I cleaned myself up. I wrapped the trash in a small bag and tossed it before I met Dylan on the top of a small hill. He stood tall, looking up at the sky with squinted eyes.
“It might rain.” He said as I approached him. His eyes were pure black when he turned to look at me—not even a bit of white.
I couldn’t help it, I stepped back at how inhuman they were. My hands started to tremble as his hands started to shift into—something else?
“Don’t be afraid.” He said in a deep, dark voice before the Dylan I knew became no more.
I wanted to scream and run as far as I could, but my feet were rooted to the spot. I watched Dylan shift before my eyes, but it still didn’t feel real. All of this felt like one big nightmare that I couldn’t wake up from no matter how many times I pinched myself.
