Chapter 177 Freedom And Misfortune

Mirabel was happy. She had finally managed to get away from Chase and the people of Miami and yet even on this beautiful island she couldn't stop scrolling through the news waiting for any news of Chase Darwin. It’s been three days since she arrived at a small island on the west coast of California, Santa Cruz. It was the largest island in California and there weren't many people occupying the island. Over the last two days, Mirabel has gotten acquainted with the people on the island and she found out they were just scientists, eco-researchers, explorers, and a few people like herself who came to get away from the hustle and bustle of the big cities or who needed a fresh start. Mirabel was constantly reminded that she was almost three thousand miles away from Chase and without the news, she had no idea how he was doing. She had wanted to keep in touch with him or Alice but Lucas had expressed it was a terrible idea and Chase wasn't so keen on keeping in touch with her either.
