MADELINE'S POV  I couldn't listen to Sera's confessions anymore. I left the room. As soon as I stepped out, the impact of what she had said hit me. When I reached the end of the corridor, I could barely focus.  I didn't realize that I had wandered so far. I hadn't escaped my past. It still haunted me, as clear as day.
