Andrei Kat looks fine when I get to the hospital. It appears that both twins were safely delivered, but my father still looks worried as he watches them in their bassinet. I pat his shoulder as I step into the room. “Son,” he nods toward Kat, who is on the bed staring off worriedly. “Kat,” I lean down and kiss her cheek, and she wraps her arms around my neck. I rub her back gently before pulling back. My eyes scan the room again, as if I didn’t notice something important as I entered, and after a moment, it hits me. Mateo and Ezra are nowhere to be seen. I raise an eyebrow, but Kat rushes to answer the question before I get to voice it. “They are talking to Mathias about Marabella.” She whispers as she glances in the direction of her twins. “Why? Is something wrong with her?” I ask, and she looks at the bassinet again. I peer down at my niece lying next to her brother.
