Chapter 31

VERONICA I don't recall falling asleep. I was certainly exhausted by Christian. While I hesitate to admit it, I enjoyed it. The night evoked many past memories and intensified my emotions, reaffirming that despite my efforts, my heart still yearns for him, that I did and still do love him... I awoke with a pleasant soreness throughout my body, it flet as if I were crushed by a truck the entire night. This feeling— it flutters my heart unpremeditated. As a doctor, I failed to heal my own heart and let it flow at the risk of being shattered again and again. Fluttering my eyes open, I saw a bright sunbeam shining through the window and onto my face. "Mmghm," I groaned softly, but then, I froze, as I felt a strong, muscular presence behind me. Soon, his large hand wrapped around my waist, pulling me closer to his firm, masculine chest. My lower back touching his lower front, making me gasp inwardly as I felt his morning excitement poking my thighs. His breath fanned my neck as his lips gra
