“Go home and rest for a few days,” he said, his voice calm now. “I’ll have the hospital’s public relations team handle the mess.”
Sloane’s brow lifted slightly, touched despite herself. The dean, for all his reserved demeanor, had always protected the people he valued. Her skills weren’t just recognized, they were indispensable.
“And your paper on Mr. Brown’s illness,” he added, the corner of his mouth twitching. “When it’s time, just tell me what information you need. I’ll have someone send it to you.”

“I won’t take a vacation,” she said firmly, her tone even. “I can settle this completely in three days.”
