Destined Mate Met

A man and woman, who appeared to be in their early forties, stepped through the door, exuding an air of confidence and authority, followed by a young woman who seemed to be around my age.  She was stunningly beautiful, elegant, and walked with a regal poise that commanded attention. I looked again, hoping to catch a glimpse of someone else, but it seemed they were the only ones entering. The man and woman might be the king and queen, and the young woman seemed like their daughter. I felt a pang of disappointment wash over me as I realized the mate I was hoping wasn't among them. It seemed I had been deceiving myself, and fate had played me. As the reality set in, a heavy weight settled in my chest, like an anchor sinking to the ocean floor. I had been so sure, so convinced that my mate would be among the royal family.  But now, the silence and emptiness felt like a harsh truth, a brutal reminder that I might never find the one meant for me.
