Asking for Forgiveness
Chapter 47
As I looked up, my eyes scanned the doorway, and my anticipation was replaced with a warm smile as Aurora came into view. But my gaze didn't linger on her for long, as her mother, Dahlia, emerged from behind her, a gentle smile on her face. "Hey," Aurora said, her voice brightening the room.
Dahlia's eyes met mine, her expression softening with concern. "Hi, Davina. Hope we're not disturbing you?" Her voice was laced with warmth, and I felt a sense of comfort wash over me.
I gestured to the sofa, trying to appear composed. "Not at all ma. Please, have a seat." Aurora and Dahlia settled into the plush cushions, their faces expectant. I followed suit, my eyes darting between them as I tried to gauge their intentions.
As we sat, the silence grew thick with unspoken questions. "I hope there's no problem, ma'am?" I ventured, my voice barely above a whisper. My nerves thrummed beneath the surface, a reminder of the complicated history between us. If fate had played out differently
