The seal sat like a challenge.
It wasn’t tossed carelessly or hidden, it was placed deliberately, centered on the pillow, as if whoever left it wanted to prove they could stand in the heart of my territory, in my private space, and leave without so much as a whisper.
That was the kind of arrogance that got wolves killed.
I didn’t touch it. Instead, I scanned the room with slow, deliberate precision. The windows were locked. The curtains untouched. No scuff marks on the floorboards, no displaced rugs or overturned edges. The air carried only the faintest lingering warmth of Aisha’s scent, no stranger’s trace, no foreign musk. Which meant this was someone who could mask themselves completely or someone the territory itself didn’t consider an intruder.
