I worked like my life depended on it. In a way, it did. With each passing hour, more wounded poured into the Neutral Hospital, bodies battered, souls frayed and I had no time to crumble. I couldn't afford to.
Katie and Erica quickly took over the minor injuries, stitching wounds and administering pain relievers with practiced ease. Emma stuck close by my side as we focused on critical cases, broken ribs, deep claw wounds, internal bleeding. Noelle had volunteered to help too. Despite still recovering, she insisted on managing the patient logs and medical inventory. She was meticulous, focused. I respected her strength.
