He just gave a calm "Yeah. There’s yam and corn in the porridge; the noodles are mixed with beef jerky. I fried an egg too. See if you like it."
I glanced over at the stove. The smell was incredible and instantly made me hungry.
Then I looked back at him again, the man right in front of me, and I honestly felt like I was seeing him for the first time. I froze on the spot.
"When did you learn to cook?"
I was absolutely sure Ronald couldn’t cook—like, not in this life, not in the past one either. No way.
