Joshua let out a low whistle. “So if the guy’s not willing, you’ll have to go to court. But hold on—is it you who wants the divorce?”
Before I got married, we were on pretty good terms. He was one of the few friends who actually knew about it. Back then, he warned me—don’t step into the grave of love, especially when there’s no real love there to begin with. Said it’d only end in disaster.
And yeah, disaster didn’t even begin to cover it in my last life. It was brutal.
I rubbed my temples and muttered through clenched teeth, “Don’t worry about it. Just tell me how the court thing works. I want something that'll guarantee a win.”
He went quiet for a second, then said, “Usually, divorce cases go through court mediation first. If mediation doesn’t work, the court will look at the facts you provide, plus the guy’s response, then decide if the marriage has really broken down. If the relationship’s clearly toast and mediation fails, then they’ll grant the divorce.”
