Chapter 139: Soft Touch, Not Force
Henry’s breathing had finally leveled off, and Giselle, too exhausted to keep up their spat, simply shut her eyes and slept.
The following morning, determined to test Henry’s sincerity, Giselle decided it was time for a strategic outing.
“Sophie, get the car ready. I’m going out,” she commanded, subtly watching Sophie’s reaction from the corner of her eye.
This time, Sophie didn’t miss a beat and promptly went to arrange the vehicle.
Giselle downed the last of her milk and ascended the stairs to change. When she returned, the sight that greeted her in the courtyard left her speechless.
It was just a casual outing, not a royal procession.
An entire fleet of luxury vehicles dominated the expansive garden, the leading ones heavily armored, their glass and frames bulletproof. An army of bodyguards stood at the ready—no less than a hundred.
Instantly, her heart sank.
“Sophie, my phone,” Giselle commanded.
