Chapter 145: I Call the Shots
Sophie hurried in with the doctor, who after a brief examination, gave Henry Jefferson a cautious report. “Mr. Jefferson, your wife, Giselle, has only fainted due to excessive emotional stress, which isn’t uncommon in pregnancy due to hormonal imbalances.”
“Are there other risks we should be worried about?” Henry asked, a frown creasing his brow.
“In severe cases, it could jeopardize the baby, so managing her emotions is crucial. Also, she’s somewhat deficient in vitamins and needs better nutrition.”
“Got it.”
Henry’s expression turned even grimmer. He immediately commanded, “From tomorrow, change the chefs. It’s unacceptable that my wife is lacking in vitamins. What on earth are these chefs doing?”
The doctor’s heart skipped a beat, and he quickly interjected, “Mr. Jefferson, vitamin deficiency is quite normal during pregnancy as it can disrupt the body’s normal absorption processes. It's not the chefs’ fault.”
This softened Henry’s demeanor slightly, and he waved the doctor off
