Sophie had no clue where Giselle intended to go until they slowed by a quaint flower shop. On impulse, Giselle asked the driver to pull over.
Once inside, she directed the florist to craft a bouquet of pristine white roses. Her next destination was unmistakably solemn—a cemetery.
There, a cold granite tombstone, etched with the benevolent image of her grandmother, greeted her. Those tender eyes in the photograph seemed to whisper secrets of the past.
Giselle crouched down, tenderly placing the bouquet before the stone, her fingers tracing the icy surface.
“Grandma, I’m here,” she murmured, her voice breaking, “I’m sorry for the hardships you endured because of me. I had dreamt of better days for us…”
