Levi stepped into the dimly lit interrogation room, his eyes locking onto Sophia’s. She sat rigid in the chair, her hands clenched tightly in her lap. The room’s coldness matched the tension in the air, but Levi kept his expression calm. He’d come here for a reason, and he wasn’t leaving until he’d said his piece.
Sophia glanced up, her eyes narrowing. “What do you want, Levi? Come to twist the knife? I’m not changing my statement if that’s what you’re hoping for.”
Levi shook his head slowly, pulling out the chair opposite her and sitting down. “I’m not here to ask you to confess to anything, Sophia.”
She scoffed, leaning back. “Then what are you here for? Do you think you can convince me that I’m wrong? That I should just hand you everything on a silver platter?”
“No,” Levi replied calmly. “I’m here because you’ve been scammed, and your mother… she’s dying, Sophia.”
Sophia’s eyes widened for a fraction of a second, but she quickly masked her shock with defiance. “Nice try, Levi.
