CHAPTER 120: INDEBTED

Carol's voice quivered with fear as she clung to the hope that her mother would intervene against George sending her abroad. The thought of being alone in a foreign country, without anyone to support or protect her, sent shivers down her spine at every point she thought about it. "You can't just send me away like some trash you're done with. I'm your sister, for Goddesses," Carol pleaded; she was evidently trembling as each word came out of her mouth. "I just returned. At least I deserve a break but sending me away now….?" Her voice Creaked as she spoke. Noticing George wasn't falling for her remorseful act, she switched tones immediately. "Mom won't allow it, I'm sure of it. She's not going to allow you to just send me off like a nobody. I'm family, and I have a share in our family's wealth. You can't just take that away from me. I have my own rights." With a bitter laugh, George's attitude shifted from being stern to being scornful. He peered down at Carol with a cold gaze, his wor
