Chapter 59 The Truth of Her Mother's Death
Giselle was in the midst of reading at the hospital when she learned Anna wanted to see her. She put down her book and fixed her gaze on Betty.
Betty grew uncomfortable at that look and snapped, "Don't try to drive a wedge between me and Mrs. Cobb. I won't be turned against them by you."
At that, Giselle laughed out loud. "I didn't say anything yet, but you look like you're unhappy. Did Anna give you a hard time again?"
"No!" Betty immediately denied it. But her eyes kept darting away. She didn't dare to meet Giselle's gaze.

Giselle shook her head and looked at her sympathetically.
"Sometimes, I really feel sorry for you. You've been by Anna's side the longest, and she takes everything for granted. She never thought to raise your pay to support your family. Mrs. Hart, tell me. If Elijah ever finds out what Anna has done, what do you think will become of you?"
