Chapter 69 Decide When We Leave
Elijah gave a subtle nod. "I think chamomiles are a good choice. Let's go with that then."
"Really?" Giselle asked, her face lighting up with delight.
Elijah stared at her wordlessly.
Was he seriously that untrustworthy to her?
"I'll get someone to buy some."
Giselle flashed him a smile again. "Thanks."
After the workers brought the pots of flowers over, Giselle carefully planted them. Crouching by the grave, she murmured to herself as she worked.
This was Elijah's first time seeing such a lively expression on Giselle's face.
If she had been raised as loved and spoiled as Anna, she probably would have always been this cheerful.
A pang of bitterness stirred in Elijah as he felt an almost uncontrollable sense of protectiveness toward the pitiful woman in front of him.
He laughed at himself, thinking that he was only feeling this way because the heavy rain was messing with his head.
When the rain finally eased, Elijah glanced at his watch.
"Would you like to head back now?"
