Chapter 29

I listened as Felix spoke. I said nothing as I continued applying iodine to his wounds. "Reegan?" Felix prompted repeatedly. I looked up. I could see my reflection in his eyes, which were rimmed with red. He reached out and stroked my cheek lovingly. I pushed him away. My hands were trembling uncontrollably. "You put yourself in so much danger. Did you stop and consider that they might kill you as soon as they got their hands on you?" Felix pulled me into his embrace and planted gentle kisses on my cheek. "I'm sorry," he whispered. "I regret not thinking the plan through and putting you in danger. "This will never happen again. I'll discuss everything with you before I do anything, alright?" For some reason, that just made me even more upset. I burst into tears, letting all the emotions I had been holding back for so long overwhelm me. The softer his tone was, the harder I cried. I threw myself into his arms and gripped his shirt tightly, wrinkling the fabric. "Felix," I sob
