"The woman I'd been with for years suddenly left me. I tried to explain, but she wouldn't listen. Howard took a slow sip. "Yes." "I don't get it," Evan said, dropping his emotions in an instant. "You and Megan were solid. You seemed fine with her. And Alyssa doesn't have much time left. I thought you were just being kind, taking care of her. But Megan actually agreed to the divorce?" Howard swirled the ice in his glass and didn't look at Evan. "Sh
