Before leaving the studio, Alyssa once again stood in Megan's way. "Help me clear my name," Alyssa demanded in the crossover. Megan was amused. Why did Alyssa still carry herself with such self-righteousness? The idea that Megan would lack the self-respect to help her was absurd. Without a word, Megan turned to leave. "You'd better think this through!" Alyssa called after her. "Even from this position, I can still vindicate myself. Elena, once the public finds out you miscarried Jimmy's baby, do you really think you can remain so smug? The only reason you're succeeding now is because of my mercy!" Megan almost laughed aloud. Her mercy? She wondered where Alyssa found such overconfidence. "Elena!" Alyssa shouted again, but Megan ignored her completely. "Don't think you're a shoo-in for the competition! I'll be waiting for you to come begging!" With that final threat hanging in the air, Megan finished packing and prepared to leave. Jimmy had organized a celebratory dinner, and
