Chapter 112 AUTHOR’S POV. “Mum? What’s that?” Evelyn asked her mum, who was hiding a wristband she had just picked up from the floor. “It’s nothing,” she replied quickly, her tone curt. She turned her eyes on Evelyn and forced a smile. “When are you going back to school?” she asked, pretending to sound casual. “Ah… about that? I don’t know yet. I’ll go when the school resumes. I’m not going now.” Evelyn stood up from the chair, reaching for the remote on the table, but she paused halfway, her brows pulling together as if something suddenly crossed her mind. “But I haven’t seen Dad all this while. Where has he been?” she asked, tilting her head slightly. “How would I know? I thought he leaves every morning. Do you see me follow him?” her mum snapped sharply, her eyes flashing for a second. Evelyn groaned, slumping back into the chair. “She could just reply nicely,” she muttered under her breath, biting on her nails. Her chest felt tight with irritation. “It’s not like I wanted to know t
