VALENTINA “You did what!?” Uncle Sam gasped, and others stared at me, all shocked to their bones. The doctor looked as if he would faint at any moment. And then, there was I, sitting on the bed, not so bothered, but a little guilty for worrying them. I slowly nodded my head, "Yes, I consumed it myself.” Everyone fell completely silent. They seemed to have gone speechless. After a while, Uncle Sam spoke, "Val, if anyone has forced you or blackmailed you, tell us. We will take care of it.” So they're thinking I'm lying? I guess I should be clearer. A deep sigh left my lips. Looking up at him, I shook my head. "No one forced me; it was me, I ate it,” I said again, my throat was still burning, and my voice was completely broken, sort of unrecognisable. “I am on a special kind of training, Papa knows it…” I muttered. “That doesn't mean you'll consume the entire plant of such a dangerous poison!” Papa sounded angry. His face had darkened; he was not so pleased with my action. “But nothing ha
