Cameron didn't return to Baker Group until late afternoon. Mark hurried over, unable to hide how excited he was. "Mr. Baker, you're back. About your deal with Mr. Burke..." Cameron walked right past him and headed for his private elevator. His voice was flat. "Tell the marketing department to get ready." Mark blinked, then it clicked that the deal had gone through, and his face lit up. "Yes, I'll take care of it right now!" he blurted, then suddenly remembered something and hurried after Cameron. "Mr. Baker, one more thing. Ms. Stone... it looks like she still hasn't gone back to the apartment." The elevator doors slid open, and Cameron stopped short. His brow creased, a flash of irritation in his eyes. He'd told the driver to take Macie straight back to the apartment. Even with a detour, she should've been home by now. He didn't go back to his office. He rode the elevator down to the garage and drove straight to her building. After all, he'd promised Aaron he'd look after her.
