Chapter 237 Do Not Just Look At The Surface
Gideon paused, taken aback for a moment. Then, he firmly said, "If you really killed someone, it would only be because they deserved it."
"How can you be so sure?" Nancy asked.
"Because I trust you," he said, steady as a rock.
A flicker of emotion stirred in her chest. "Keep an eye on the Lidells for me. I can clear my name, but not for now."
"You're planning to stay in there?" Gideon frowned. "This place is rough."
"I'll manage." She flashed him a reassuring smile. "Go. Don't worry about me. I'll be fine."
The visit ended, and they had to part.
Gideon stood, taking in her pale but composed face, a mix of ache and anger swirling inside him.
When he found whoever had set her up, he would make them pay.
The guard brought Nancy back inside, but not to the same crowded cell. They'd instead brought her to a single cell.
"You'll stay here for now," the guard said.
She understood immediately. Gideon had pulled strings.
