CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FORTY FOUR – THE VITAL MEETING
Rebecca glanced at Luca, who nodded. She opened the door, revealing Marco laden with bags of groceries and medical supplies.
"Thank you," Rebecca said, taking some of the bags from him.
Marco nodded curtly, his eyes darting around the small apartment. "How's the boss?"
"I'm fine, Marco," Luca called from the bed. "Any news?"
Marco's expression darkened. "The Rossis are getting bolder. They're moving in on our territory, telling everyone you're dead."
Luca's jaw clenched. "We need to move quickly then. Have you arranged the meeting?"
Marco nodded. "It's set for three days from now. Neutral ground, as requested."
"Good," Luca said. "Keep me updated on any developments."
As Marco left, Rebecca busied herself unpacking the supplies. She could feel the tension in the room, thick and oppressive.
"Luca," she said softly, "are you sure about this meeting? You're still healing."
Luca's eyes met hers, filled with determination. "I have to do this, Rebecca. It's the only way to end this
