CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY SIX – REUNITING THE FAMILY
The door swung open, revealing their mother, Catherine Harrison. Her face was a mixture of emotions – surprise, joy, and something that looked suspiciously like disapproval.
"Rebecca," Catherine said, her voice tight. "You're here."
"Hi, Mom," Rebecca replied, forcing a smile. "It's... it's good to see you."
An awkward silence fell over them until Nancy cleared her throat. "Can we come in?"
Catherine stepped aside, allowing her daughters to enter. The house looked exactly as Rebecca remembered it – neat, orderly, and suffocating.
Their father, Malcolm Harrison, emerged from the living room. His face hardened when he saw Rebecca.
"So, you've decided to grace us with your presence," he said, his tone cold.
Rebecca flinched. "Dad, I—"
"Let's sit down," Catherine interrupted, gesturing towards the living room. "We have a lot to discuss."
