CHAPTER TWO HUNDRED AND SEVENTEEN – A SLOW DAY
Just as she was considering what to make for lunch, her phone finally buzzed. Her heart leapt into her throat, but it was only Sarah.
"Hey girl! How's the little artist today? Max is still finding paint in his fur, btw."
Rebecca chuckled, quickly typing back a reply. "She's good! Currently destroying a tower of cups. How about you bring Max over this afternoon? We're planning to go to the park if Luca gets home in time."
Sarah's response was immediate and enthusiastic. "Sounds great! Max could use the exercise. See you around 3?"
With plans set for the afternoon, Rebecca felt some of her anxiety dissipate. She turned her attention back to Helena, who had abandoned the cups in favor of trying to climb onto the coffee table.
"Oh no, you don't," Rebecca said, scooping up her adventurous daughter. "I think it's time for lunch and a nap, little monkey."
