In the dining room, the family was about to sit down for dinner. Vanessa glanced around but didn't see her other brother. Out of habit, she asked, "Is Caleb not coming back for dinner tonight?" She had two half-brothers from the same father. One, Caleb Steward, was a business prodigy and the heir to the family business. The other, Damian, had a talent for music and had become a singer. "No need to wait for him," Warren said as he walked in with authority. "There's something at the company he has to deal with. We'll start without him." With the company's responsibilities gradually being handed over to Caleb, Warren was now able to come home for a rare family meal. Pleased, Leah Ackhurst personally cooked an assortment of dishes. "Mom, you're so biased," Damian whined with a pout. "The moment Dad and Quince come home, you make this feast. Yet, I never see you cook when it's just me." The words had barely left his mouth when Vanessa lightly hit him. Like a dutiful sister, Vanessa s
