Chapter 23 What's in the Wedding Agreement?
After finishing my work, Luke Jordan closed his laptop, stretched, and said, "Come on, I'll take you home."
I quickly declined. "No, it's too late. You should head back and rest."
It was nearly midnight, after all.
Luke frowned. "What? Now that you're done using me, you're just going to throw me away?"
His words flustered me, and I had no choice but to agree.
When we came downstairs, he pointed at a blue sports car and a bicycle. "Which one do you want?"
I pointed to the bike.
Luke's lips curled into a knowing smile. "I knew you'd pick this one."
Then he climbed onto the bicycle.
I sat neatly on the back seat. Though he told me I could hold his waist if I felt unsteady, I politely refused each time.
Back in college, Luke had been a god in the eyes of countless girls. That spot behind him on his bike? A place many had dreamed of occupying.
It was late summer. A gentle breeze blew as I sat on the back of the bike, watching the city lights blur past. For a moment, I was lost in a daze.
