It caused the usually calm Ferris to lose his temper with Candice. His hand trembled as he pointed at her. The security guards arrived quickly and immediately tried to pull Candice away. Ferris turned back and looked at the board members. He forced a strained smile and said, “Don’t worry about her. Let’s continue. As for the change in chairman—” “Mr. Clark, why didn’t you wait for me for the board meeting?” Before Ferris could finish his sentence, a clear, crisp female voice interrupted him. Ferris recognized the voice immediately. The second he heard it, his eyes widened, and he trembled. He was in total disbelief. He wanted to turn around and confirm whether what he had heard and the person he thought was there was correct, but his body felt like it had been glued to the spot. Mandy, however, still managed to move. She turned stiffly toward the source of the voice. When she saw who it was, she became as stunned as Ferris. Mandy was so terrified that she sank into a chair.
