CHAPTER TWO HUNDRED AND EIGHTY FOUR – GOING TO BRAZIL
Jasmine sat on her couch, absentmindedly stroking Max's fur as she scrolled through her emails on her phone. The golden retriever's tail thumped lazily against the cushions. Suddenly, Jasmine's eyes widened, and she sat up straight.
"Oh my God," she breathed. "Max, look at this!"
She held the phone screen in front of the dog's nose. Max tilted his head, more interested in the possibility of a treat than the contents of the email.
"It's an invitation to the São Paulo International Art Biennale!" Jasmine exclaimed. "This is huge!"
She jumped up from the couch and paced the room, her mind racing. "I can't believe it. This could be my big break in South America."
As the initial shock wore off, another thought struck her. She paused, her expression softening. "Gordon," she whispered. "He's in Brazil right now."
Jasmine's heart raced at the prospect of seeing him again. Their parting had been difficult, but the distance had given her time to reflect on their relationship. She missed hi
