CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY – THE EMPIRE HAS FALLEN
Julian was there, his arms enveloping her in a fierce embrace as she poured out her anguish, her body wracked with sobs. He held her close, murmuring soothing words of comfort even as his own heart shattered at the sight of her pain.
"Those monsters," Charlotte choked out, her voice thick with rage. "They've taken everything from us, Julian. Everything."
Julian's jaw tightened, his eyes burning with a mixture of grief and grim determination. "They may have struck a devastating blow, my love, but they haven't won. Not yet."
His fingers traced the lines of her face, his touch gentle yet firm, grounding her in the midst of her turmoil.
"We will persevere, Charlotte. We will rebuild from the ashes of their destruction, and we will make the von Beckers rue the day they dared to cross our family."
Charlotte nodded, her tears subsiding as a steely resolve settled over her. She clung to Julian's words, drawing strength from his unwavering conviction, allowing his love to kindle the embers
