Anna wasn't actually sick—just took a nap and felt better afterward. Julian got a call from Megan and didn't even finish his meeting before grabbing his things and rushing home. He was expecting to find Anna curled up in bed crying quietly like in some drama, or at least looking a bit out of sorts. What he didn't expect at all was to walk in and find her squatting on the bedroom floor, playing with a dog. She had on a baggy pink pajama set, her messy hair sticking out all over the place. Her back was to the door, butt stuck out, muttering something under her breath. Julian didn't step in right away. He leaned against the doorframe, watching the two blobs on the ground. "Hey, Snowball, did you miss me? While I was gone, did some vixen try to steal your daddy? Did you scare her off for me?" "Woof woof!" The husky wagged its tail like it totally got what she said, barking twice in response. "Good boy! I knew you'd have my back. I'll get you a nice can of meat later, alright?" Back? Daddy?
