The bed had decent bounce, but Anna still banged the back of her head hard enough to feel it. She didn't even get a second to rub it—pure instinct kicked in, and she rolled over, trying to bolt off the bed. Like the old saying goes: beds are cozy traps, breeding grounds for trouble! Nothing good ever happens when you get too comfy on a bed, and what kind of acting had to happen right here, anyway? Problem was, no matter how quick she reacted, she wasn't faster than Julian who had obviously been waiting for it. His large hand closed firmly around her ankle, and with almost no effort, he dragged her back to where she started, like a slippery little fish—right back into the same spot, no more, no less. Holding her ankle with one hand, Julian loosened his tie with the other. His face showed a calm, soothing smile, though it was totally wasted on her. "Relax, I'll be gentle. After all, I love you, don't I?" Anna didn't feel the least bit reassured. If anything, his words creeped her out eve
