Charles was startled. He slammed on the brakes immediately, and with a screeching sound, the tires left marks on the ground before the car finally came to a halt. His head nearly hit the steering wheel, but his right hand instinctively protected Jennifer in the passenger seat, fearing she might be thrown out. Fortunately, she fastened her seatbelt tightly. Jennifer just furrowed her brow in discomfort, but didn't wake up. However, Cheryl, who was left unattended in the back seat, wasn't so lucky. A sudden brake sent her flying, and with a loud "bang" she slammed into the seat in front of her, crying out in pain. Charles was just about to get out of the car to discuss his theory. To their surprise, someone had already taken the initiative to step out of the car on the opposite side. This is Felix. He got out of the car and respectfully opened the rear door.
