The next day, Callie carried the letter of intent from the Ellison Group and headed to StrangeMedi to get Jamir Quinn's signature. As soon as she stepped into the office, Yusuf Peterson pushed the door open, holding a document envelope in his hand. "The documents sent to Nelson have been returned," he stated. Jamir Quinn slid his chair toward the desk and opened the envelope. Inside were a few sheets of paper, including proof of the top leader’s illegitimate child and some incriminating case evidence. Callie was stunned. "Why were they returned? Are you sure he received them?" Yusuf glanced at her, hesitating to speak. "Speak," Jamir Quinn commanded. "The message from his side is that he doesn’t need your help. He’ll find another way to get out of this. He returned these with just one request." "What request?" Callie asked urgently. Yusuf pressed his lips together. "Not to make things difficult for Callie." Her entire body tensed. Nelson was a shrewd man; he must have known so
